#WomeninBiz : ladies in small business

So many great designers and shop owners out there, and so many are women! This is Women's History month, and I'd like to share with you some of the great ladies around the world making their dreams a reality... Let's appreciate all the hard work they do, and do what we can to support them!

Post holiday regroup, and a look ahead!

This holiday season I found myself spending some much needed time with friends and family, even though that wasn't necessarily the plan. But now that the festivities are over, I'm back to work planning some great stuff for 2017!

Kitsch to chic: vintage dog themed decor

Dogs have been man's best friend for... ever? As far back as ancient times (and maybe even farther) people have been sharing their homes and hearts with canine companions; So it should be no surprise to see their likeness incorporated into art, textiles, and home decor throughout the ages. To this day, dog themed decor can be found in homes around the world, including mine! From bookends to door stops, we'll take a look at how to pull off this classic look on any budget ;D

A little flea market called Jake's

In my area, there's no shortage of flea markets, farmer's markets, and antique fairs... and Jake's is the perfect stop for someone looking for them all rolled into one! This week I visited Jake's flea market for the first time, and found deals you wouldn't believe; on everything from veggies to vacuums, Star Wars glasses to screwdrivers, antique silver platters to dog bowls! You get the idea, this place has it all! Now I'm not saying I didn't have to put in the work to hunt down the treasures I found in this expansive outdoor marketplace, but we all know that's at least half the fun ;D

Antique extravaganza in Adamstown PA

Adamstown PA (or Atown for short) has been a hot spot for vintage goods for over 30 years; but I made my first trip this weekend for their "extravaganza". This means more vendors, great deals, and even bbq! Unlike many of the other large antique/flea markets I've been to over the years, Atown is literally a town full of markets! If you've never been, let me tell you it is worth the trip...

2016 opener for the Brimfield antique and flea market!

I'm not much of an antique collector, but I love flea markets. If you've read my recent posts you know I'm always searching for some old worn out piece of furniture to restore. But there are so many awesome vintage items out there, that you don't even know what they could be until you find them (and I found a few treasures). In addition to all that, this show featured original art, sculpture, and crafts of really amazing quality! Of course, you can't buy everything... so I took my camera, and I've brought it all back here to you! OK, let's jump into my highlights and photos from the show ;D
